Sorry yes chip and saw. I am in Dothan and I would assume that it’s Rex. (The timber consultant had on a REX hat but he doesn’t work for Rex) Now that’s just what he TOLD me. I don’t have anything in writing. He’s waiting on pricing. So there’s a chance it won’t be that high. Let’s hope.

You did pretty good. I assume plantation logs? If natural, it should have been closer to 35.

Yeah, those are good prices. What is the difference between plantation logs and natural? I know our place is not the easiest to log and also I know that they are taking extra care to keep everything clean if that makes sense, so it's hard to compare one tract to another I suppose.

This is just an educated guess so take that into consideration but I’m gonna guess it's the growth rate and the difference in the quality of the wood……Slower grown trees have tighter growth rings and better wood qualities.

I think stumpage prices to landowners usually go up in the winter, especially late winter due to fewer properties that can be cut during the wet season thus reducing supply.

Correct, plantation logs planted about 35 years ago. I’m happy with the price, lots to consider on when to cut and price is obviously the biggest one. However, I lost a good bit of timber here and there when Michael came thru so letting it stand until prices are perfect can bite you.

If I could sell pine pulp for $12/ton I’d sell it all. You can’t give it away right now in these parts. So much needs thinning but it’ll die and fall over before anybody gets it.

Pulpwood. My area doesn’t really have much of a log market
