Hard to beat the Remington Super Full (RSF 0.572”) with that gun/shell combo. And it can/could be bought for $30-something. Thanks, I'll buy one of those.

Off topic. Can the Remington Super Full safely be used with TSS? In short, yes. No safety worries, however, may not hold up as long as some other chokes. I have one that after a few dozen rounds of TSS doesn’t pattern as well as it originally did.

I have a Carlson's .575 you can have. PM your address if you want it and I will try to get in the mail in the next day or two.

My younger son doesn't have the reach and also isn't able to support my old 20 gauge (it is very heavy). Like many younger children I'm letting him hunt a couple years earlier than his older brother. I think borrowing this 870 youth will hopefully make his hunt more enjoyable.

I also experimented with various bipods/shooting sticks for my son when he first started hunting and finally settled on the V-Pod by Hunters Specialties. It could be a little tricky if he had to try to adjust while the bird was coming in, but it was a lifesaver when he was sitting there waiting on the bird to show up.
