Just checking to see if anyone has a good load for a 140 and 130 SST in a 270 using IMR4350. Got a friend wanting me to load some for him. Thanks

He'd have to be a damn good friend for me to load for him and then I'd only do it if he gave me the gun for proper load development.

He's a pretty good friend. Just trying to help him and his dad out because they've been shooting factory 130 grain SST's but like everything else they are impossible to find. They do not kill big numbers of deer so 1 box would last them for years.

I think he’s referring to the liability risk. I have a good friend that’s a gunsmith and reloads a lot. Only for himself. No one else, all because of the liability.

I understand completely. I'm a little hesitant about it and explained the risk to him but he's really wanting me to load him some so I agreed to it but told him to make sure not to advertise it to anyone because I'm just doing it to help him and his dad out. Being that we're at the end of our season with only a couple weeks left I may try to stall and maybe with se luck they can find some factory ammo with a 130 SST like they are wanting.

You going to work up a load in his rifle or just load some?

I would like to work up a load if I end up loading some for them because I feel more comfortable doing it that way than just picking a random load. Just figured I'd ask here first to see if there was a specific load that seemed to work good for most people that I could start low and work up to.

I don't load 130 SSTs but do load 130 Sierra Pro Hunters and GKs. I've had good results with 54.0 grs IMR4350.

That same load worked well in my 270 shooting 130 grain hornady interlocks.

I load 130gr sst with imr4350 at 54gr,wlrp with a coal of 3.269" for a .860" group at 100 with avg 3072 fps out of an old rem700adl and bushnell scope/bipod. Ramshot hunter works well also. 145gr eld-x are nice also if you can get your hands on some

I been trying to get my hands on some ramshot for several months now and just like everything else its impossible to find. Wanted to try it out in my 7mm-08 model 70 extreme weather but for now will have to stick to IMR4064 since that's what I've got.
