I'm clearing some land to make a plot eventually. What do y'all do with the stumps? So far I've been cutting them off at the ground but they're still a trip hazard. I don't know if I should leave them and plant around them or? I don't have much equipment, just a truck and chainsaw and some hand tools. I've heard of hack and squirt but that would take a long time to kill them I would think? I have pulled some up with the truck but on the bigger ones that involves a good bit of digging too and still takes a while. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Unrelated picture but it's all I have for a visual. Everything is as big as the tree with the pink on it or smaller with most everything being smaller where I'm actually clearing.

Hire a dozer and push them over. Wont have to worry about it anymore

Two roads diverged in the woods and I took the one with deep ruts, hills and mud.It may be bumpy but WHAT A RIDE!

Cheapest way is to cut low and paint the top of the stump with straight 41% Glyphosate to kill it. Let nature take it course. The stumps aren't very big and would likely be rotted into nothing in a year or two.

How many are you talking? You can rent a stump grinder for a weekend for just a couple hundred bucks.

You going to put a plot on the side of that hill ? Might just be the photo, but it looks pretty steep.

If you've got a tight budget and patience this would work fine. In two years a disk would roll ones that big right up.

I'll probably end up doing this.
