When trying to show off, I reach in my pocket and grab my small 3 blade uncle henry pocket knife. If I’m alone, I grab my Kabar out of the truck.

blade is good for 3 deer imo

I love the rut. The woods are like a bunch of roided up meatheads fighting over a girl.

I used to use a small 3" blade/knife made from a 1" wide hacksaw blade, flat with no handle. Fit flat in my wallet.

I was hunting with a friend in Camden once, had killed a buck one evening. When I got to his house a couple of other friends were there, wanting to go out to eat. I told em to wait while I cleaned my deer. I pulled out my small wallet knife and proceeded to remove the quarters, inner and outer loins, and neck meat in about ten minutes w/o gutting the deer, laying on my tailgate. One of the friends I didn't know said" I don't know where you learned to do a deer like that but you aren't ever hunting on my place". LOL

I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

This is hands down the best skinning knife for the money you can buy.

I've got more knives than I'll ever use but think I'll order one of these anyway.

My favorite is one made by Barry Dawson. He's retired now, but his family still makes knives.

The high carbon blades seem to hold an edge slightly longer but can tarnish. The stainless steel one I mentioned was good for two large pigs before noticeably getting dull. It's not difficult to get back to a shaving edge and I think the Scandi grind helps.

I own about every thing made. I cape out a pile of deer and I've found the outdoor edge razor to be the best. I need something that stays razor sharp.

I like the Outdoor Edge replaceable blade knife for deer and elk. Hogs are so easy to skin, it doesn’t matter what knife I use.

As much as I'd like a "nice" good quality knife, I'm far too cheap for one. The Outdoor Edge with replaceable blades has done everything I've needed it to do.

I have 3 of those lol. I put 2 in my kill pack after people kept trying to swap knives with me cleaning elk. Now I offer one up to keep them going lol
The guys that come in to help me pack the last couple years have received one as a thank you if they don't tag out and I have to help them in return. I found the green handled ones local for $19

Yes, but everyone should own a few (maybe a dozen or so) quality knives man!

I've had one for a while and they're great, especially for the price. just ordered another as a gift for a friend I'm going hog hunting with next month. used mine for everything from sticking a bayed 175 # hog to cutting bait while in the gulf- first mate even tried to "forget" that he had put it in his cooler when we got off the boat, but I had been waiting to see if the bastage was going to give it back after he moved it off the top of his last beer and covered it with ice! sob

I've used a 4-inch blade to finish off wounded deer and pigs but you have to do it just right. A 6-inch or longer is better (and I know, that's what she said!!! )

. Not trying to start anything, define a quality knife. I have looked at buying more expensive knives, but I haven't pulled the trigger. These are the knives I use frequently: I have an old shrade skinner 152; an old timer pocket knife (carbon); an Uncle Henry (stainless) and an old Kabar.
