I guarantee it won’t be enforced. I’ve never been a part of any organization where systems like that work. It’ll just end up causing more butt hurt. You gonna tell your buddy his 115” deer doesn’t meet the rule and to cough up the money? I wouldn’t. Those are my initial thoughts. Hunt with like minded folks and forget the strict rules and fines.

You have to wear the pink dress and apron and mop the floors and everyone gets to record you doing it. Our group works to hard for their money. Besides this works a whole lot better and is a lot funnier.

1st offense - $100.00 fine
2nd offense - $200.00 fine
3rd offense - Meet with club president to determine future of your club membership.
Offenses were for that years hunting season.
Cleared at end of each year.
These were the rules at a club I just got out of this past year.

200$ first offense, 2nd offense subject to membership termination by the land owner.
It is an invitation only membership, and he will yank your invitation and offer it to the next person on our waitlist.

You gonna tell your buddy his 115” deer doesn’t meet the rule and to cough up the money? I wouldn’t. Those are my initial thoughts. Hunt with like minded folks and forget the strict rules and fines. It most certainly can be done. It takes good leadership and mostly good people (this is why good clubs are uncommon). You may have to weed through some people, of course. I’m part of a very big club and my uncle is the President. Have other uncles on the board along with my dad and several close friends being in it. It’s a joy being there and has very little to no drama. We’ve got practically a book of rules. Not really, but a bunch of them. They’ve been in place for years! My uncle would give me the boot as fast as anyone if I was breaking rules. The thing is, they are abided by by all. If there’s an issue, the board and president will handle it appropriately depending on the situation. Nobody gets a pass. It’s the same rules for everyone! My mom (the presidents sister), who is 70 just killed her first buck last week which was short of our 17” main beam rule. Guess what....she paid the $300! And was more than happy to! I would’ve paid it for her. It’s a good time down there. Headed there tomorrow matter of fact!

And folks wonder why hunter numbers are down and new folks coming into the life of a hunter are down I somewhat agree. IMO, kids should get any one buck a year at least to keep their interest. Over time, they should also be taught the act of conservation and that hunting isn’t all about killing. That’s just my thoughts on it. There are places out there to hunt that will fit each persons needs or wants. It just takes time and hard looking to find them.

And folks wonder why hunter numbers are down and new folks coming into the life of a hunter are down Then don’t join a lease with buck restrictions. A legal buck in my club must be a 3yo. A youth is allowed to take any buck for their first. An illegal buck will cost you $250. Three strikes and you’re out.

All that happens is people ground check them, then leave them in the woods, or they don’t mind paying the fine and just shoot what they want.

all guests pay $500 for any buck shot 200$ first offense, 2nd offense subject to membership termination by the land owner.
It is an invitation only membership, and he will yank your invitation and offer it to the next person on our waitlist. I hunted a place just like this a good while back. Bucks got some age on them because no one wanted to mess up. I like it!
