I know it’s been discussed and I’ve looked through most all discussions on the topic. I can not keep my toes from freezing. If it’s below 45 my toes will be cold. I feel like I have looked at all culprits; sweat and circulation being the main ones.

This year I decided to not hold back and finally solve the issue. On like temperature mornings I have done the following. 1) 1 pair synthetic thin Under Armor socks and Darn Tough Heavyweight Hunter, lasted about an hour 40 degrees. 2) just Darn Tough Heavyweight socks lasted about an hour upper 30s. 3) changed socks at tree and put on fresh Darn Tough socks lasted maybe 2.5 hours in low 30, definitely seemed to help but I did this on a low 40s day and toes were freezing 45 mins in. 4) Been wearing Muck Boots for last 15 years so I decided to try a 1200g pair of lace up boots and changed socks at base of tree. Lasted about 30 mins this morning in the upper 30s.

I’m back to thinking it’s poor circulation but where? My boots a size big and my feet have plenty of room, I can can completely ball up my foot. I’m started to think it’s coming from sitting since I can stand up for 15-20 mins and they get feeling almost normal.

Any ideas or solutions? I have not tried changing boots and socks at the tree but I already haul more than I really want in with and don’t want to add boots the mix. Even though it doesn’t matter if I walk 50 ft or a mile to my stand my feet still get cold about the same. Also never had much luck with Hot Hand Toe Warmers

See that’s what I don’t get is that what I’m wearing should get me into the sub zero temps and I can’t get past 40. I deal with it and push through the pain but would love a cool morning sit it comfort.

Sounds like it could be Reynaud's Syndrome. My hands will go numb/white and look frostbit in the .40s occasionally. It can also affect feet. Google it, and ask your doc next time youj are in. Not necessary dangerous, but could be a result of underlying issues.

Need to get your core warmer. If you are the slightest bit cold up top, your feet ain't getting any of the warm blood or not enough to warm them. Wearing a down jacket has helped keep my feet warmer this year during cold weather. Wear something with puff and insulation up top and on your legs to keep heat trapped, good quality stuff. That might help

Used to get cold toes, but not anymore. Get some HotMocs if you can find them, keeps the heat pads on top of your toes, outside the boot, and has a breathable material that lets the packs stay hot. You can get the LARGE heat packs at walmart when they have them. 2 of the large heat packs on each foot keeps my toes warm down into the 20's, even though I am wearing un-insulated rubber boots. Before HotMocs, I used to suffer too.

Besides possibly having poor circulation the main culprit is usually losing body heat in your core organ areas. Your body shunts blood away from extremities to keep your brain and heart warm. Keep your head, neck, kidney areas warm and your toes will stay warmer

Get a pair of Ororo heated socks. I find that if I set down I get colder quicker. If I am in metal stand I make sure to hang my toes off the stand so they are not on the cold metal

I Have raynauds very cold mornings can b a battle especially if it’s really humid. Wool is your only answer. I wear uninsulated boots and thick midway brand wool socks. Even then some mornings are rough. My hands suffer badly but wool gloves and a hand muff work well.

Just a question, do you smoke? Smoking is a vasoconstrictictor

I got some heated socks for Christmas and tested them this morning. They are really nice and warm. No clue on durability but if they last a while they’ll stay on my list of must haves.

Thermacell heated insoles. Rechargeable, and have a remote to control the temp while they’re in your boot. So you don’t get sweaty feet walking in

Lots of great ideas on here.

One more, have you tried diabetic compression socks? These could be your ticket.

Never seen those before. They look like an excellent idea. Don't put them on until you are in your stand. Your feet won't sweat with wearing too thick of socks on your way in. They are only $8 on Amazon!!

If at first you dont succeed, You may not want to try parachuting

I wear heavy socks and a pair of crocs for the walk in. Once in my stand, toss a hand warmer inside a pair of boot blankets. Can sit forever not even wearing shoes.

I wear a pair of thin boot socks then put on the toasty toes under my toes and then put on a pair of the heavy bass pro shop socks. Most days I hunt in my uninsulated Muck boots. If it’s really cold (low 30s and below), I bought some 1200 gram Danner Pronghorn lace up boots half size too big for really cold conditions. Really bought the heavy boots for Illinois this year and it was 75 degrees.

I do not. I have looked into reynauds but it’s only in my toes and only when I’m sitting stationary. I duck hunt a lot and my toes never ever get cold, I’m also standing a good portion of the time I duck hunt. If I ever am hunting in a blind or layout style blind my toes will get cold.

I have a PC Dr visit coming up so I will at least bring it up.

Have you personally tried them? I’ve read many bad reviews on them typically dealing with them lasting but a couple of times.

I haven’t acted on it but I have been considering this.

I always wear crocs during my drive. Boots go on when I leave the truck. Get you some merino wool socks also. Main thing is to not get your feet too warm and sweaty before sitting in the cold. Rubber boots like mucks and lacrosse boots are the worst, and when it’s really cold, I’ll pack them into the stand. Most of my areas take a good bit of walking, so I keep the sweat off during the walk.
