Some good stuff here...
No, I’m not on a cholesterol med.
I walk anywhere from 150-350 yards to my stand locations.
Interestingly enough, I do wear Muck boots. I’ve thought about that, but can’t say for sure that that’s my problem. Something to dwell on though I reckon. Doesn’t matter what stand I hunt from, but I’m almost always in a climber.
If I walk a long ways in my Muck boots my legs kill me at my age.

Pickle juice probably wouldn't hurt either.

Drink some tonic water on your ride home. Make sure that the label says it has quinine in it. This!!!!! Works fast for me, add some lemon juice so you get hydrated and vitamin C, add some gin and if it doesn't work, you won't mind it as much.

Yes. You’re being more focused on quiet steps going in and out of hunting stands. Quads are worked harder being more precise/quiet with your steps vs normal gated walking. And like mine, are not accustomed to “winter walking/stalking” vs summer “yard walking”. Riding a desk vs farm work I grew up on suk’s as far as fitness level goes! I just can’t get in the groove of throwing weights around inside a building.
ETA: I hunted with a guy that was a fitness buff and he told me that if you can girt out a cramp (generally 72 seconds) that it wouldn’t come back...that’s a lotta teeth gritting for 72 second in the midsts of a hard cramp!!

Its not good for some folks to sit for long, that's how some people throw a blood clot from being immobile for hours. Perhaps you need to go see a Dr.!

Try stalk hunting, instead of sitting.

Cramps are always in my quads. I’m going to try a different pair of boots tomorrow, and see if that helps. Beer Belly.... damn. Just damn! What in cornbread hail made you think of that pic???!!!!!!??? I’ll update around 9pm tomorrow night and let y’all know if changing the boots made a difference. The mustard coomment. I didn't know that mustard was known to help with cramps.

Magnesium helps the Potassium work.

GF uses mustard to stop a cramp. Doesn't seem to help prevent one in her case. She gets them in her thighs due to some botched surgery. Stated taking the magnesium and them mostly quit happening. She gets them without any stress from use just laying down.

Stay hydrated and eat bananas ahead of time. Have pickle juice handy when you get cramps. Its amazing how quickly pickle juice works! Mustard helps too but pickle juice works better and quicker for me.

Had no idea they sold pickle juice as a sports drink until I saw it in Academy. Clerk said it was a hot item, especially for summer baseball season.

Man I went on a trip up north several yrs back hunting and about the third day in at lunch I stepped off the camper steps and a cramp hit me in the back of my thigh and it locked up.... I hit the ground croppie floppin and my buddies run out and say wth you doin jr...get yo ass up..... When they finally seen the panic in my face and distress they finally came to my rescue and straightened my leg and dug in the back of my thigh and got it out.....Whew......trust me when i say Potassium is your friend.....

Think I would go see a doctor and have some blood work done . Definitely a potassium issue I’d say . I’m an old coach . . See the part about seeing a dr. first.
