CHATOM, Ala. (AP) - Authorities say an Alabama man and his son have killed each other in a dispute over a dog.
Washington County Sheriff Richard Stringer says 60-year-old Kelvin James Coker discovered his dog had been shot on Saturday.
The man then drove to the home of his son, 32-year-old Kelvin Nicholas Coker, who claimed to have killed the animal.
The sheriff says the older man shot first and then the son returned fire with a shotgun.
Both men died from their wounds.
The sheriff calls the family “very dysfunctional.”

I read that the dog had attacked a little girl thus being the reason the son killed the dog. Idk just what I read......still like the Sheriff said.........

A dog hunter killed another man who shot his dog in Hale Co about 1980. Drove up to the shooters can-house and asked who shot his dog. Guy stood up and said he did it. Dog hunter pulled his shotgun out of his truck and killed him dead right there without saying anything else.
I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

My cousin got attacked by a big white German Shepherd, bit on the shoulder as it was going for his throat. My uncle shot the dog and told his neighbor down the road who owned him what happened. He said if you hadn’t killed him I would have. Raven is the best dog I ever had and my best friend but I can tell you that if she ever shows aggression to anyone (unless we’re in danger) she won’t do it twice.
It's hard to kiss the lips at night that chews your a$$ all day long.
