Anyone who has shot at Shiloh Clays down in Shelby-- do they have actual skeet and trap fields (not seeing any on Google Earth) or is it just 5 stand and sporting clays?

I'm being told by a friend who lives down there that they have skeet-- but I also know a lot of people don't know what Skeet really is.

last time i was there it was sporting, five stand and wobble trap.

It’s sporting clays and then there is a covered area where you can shoot skeet thrown from 5-6 different locations. I’m not versed enough on what “trap” and skeet” mean exactly. Call down there and talk to Butch. He can answer all your questions

Skeet- 8 stations in a semi-circle, high house, low house- clays follow the same path every time but the shooter's position changes at each station so the angles and leads are different at each one.

Trap, 5 stations- 5 shots from each station- clays fly a different/random path every time- always rising and going away, but you don't know until it's in the air which way it's going.

A clay pigeon in the air being shot it does not make it "skeet". Skeet is a specific thing.

No, i'm not aware of either of those being there. but again call them and ask. I have not been out there since early summer.

I joined Southern Skeet and Trap yesterday and shot a couple of rounds of trap. I think that place is better suited for me.
