I spend the warm wather months in tennis shoes and shorts. And I'm in the woods, pasture, peach orchard or field every day. I ain't wearing no hotass, knee high leather, and I ain’t afraid of snakes. Amen! Wear shoes that are comfortable. Dying from a snake bite is extremely unlikely, but Plantar Fasciitis is a real threat to your health. Absolutely! And arthritis ain't no joke either. I don't disagree. I didn't wear snake protection of any kind for about 7-8 years. But my son was bit on the foot by a large cottonmouth. A night in the ER and $2,800 out of pocket later I figured I could at least wear gaiters. A lot less expensive than the "what if's".

I heard muck boots has a new snake boot now. Not sure if they are any good or not. If they so much as resemble the old ones, the answer is no.

I love my Irish Setter Vaprtrek's......about as comfortable as a snake boot is going to get - but don't plan on them staying waterproof more than a season or 2 at most.
My favs as well. Try spraying them generously with silicone. About as waterproof as waders for several rough and wet wears after that. I’ll buy them again. I just got my second pair in October. They are light weight and the most comfortable snake boots I've ever worn.

Used to be me. I never wore anything in the woods or fields all summer but shorts and short hiking boots. Now with all the blood thinners I take, one tangle in the briars or a wait-a-minute vine and I'll Damn near bleed out. It's either long pants or snake boots a d shorts now.

I've been turkey hunting since 1961 and have had some close calls, but haven't purchased snake boots yet but if a man feels more secure wearing them, go for it!

Every time I put on pants, left pocket gets a bottle of nitro, right pocket gets a vial of quick clot. But I ain't slowing down for nothin.

My dad always wore Gokey snake boots. No telling how many hundreds of miles he put on those boots. I checked price on those now. Yikes.

Dr. B What? $600 a pair is nothing for a man of your means. Nice boots but a pair weigh 6lbs. Geesh. Well at least you get a workout while wearing them.

Dr. B this^^is what I wear. I stomped a cottonmouth once with them on. Always learn something new on AL deer. Never heard of Gokey before. Just looked them up. Pretty cool looking boots and I like the zipper in the back. They look built to last a long time unlike zippers from BPS snake boots.
