Nobody told me that you shouldn't ask for anything other than .308 or 6.5 creedmore.......went into a local shop today looking for a rifle and told the guy behind the counter i was interested in a .270 or 7mm-08 and he looked at me like i had 3 heads and asked "Seriously, you looking for a .308 or 6.5?" as he started explaining that .270 was barely in the top 20 of ammo/gun sales, etc. etc. and how 6.5 was created as the superior caliber - I just said thank you and moved on!!

Ill have to check in here more and ask these things so i dont make such a dern fool of myself. slap laugh

I know for certain he was wearing skinny jeans. Did he have his man bun tied up with a pretty pink ribbon or did he use one of those hair holder things that my daughter calls a scrunchy (sp)????

You really have to get with the times you knuckle dragger. Might as well still be hunting with a club.

The 270 doesn’t even penetrate today’s deer, got have the almighty 6.5 creed less.

If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong.

Nobody actually has to buy ammo for their Creeds, when you run out, a rainbow magically appears and delivers a new box at your feet. That ahole doesn't have a clue.

Seems like when I was a teen all I ever heard about was a 30-06. Sure don’t hear too much about them these days.

I assure you plenty of deer still hear about them. But what is left to say. It has been on top of the heap for well over a century. Still my favorite.

In my opinion the 270 may be the best rifle for deer ever made. Compared to my 7 mag you cant tell a damn difference until you pass 300 yards. And really most shots are under 150 yards, except for them hunters snipering them at 1000+ yards...

It took me a long time to get to a 270, but I am there and it is great.

308 is the low rent cousin of 30-06

If they called it the 6.8 creed it would get a lot more respect.

When man prayed to God for a deer rifle God provided the 270 because it’s perfect. Because man is imperfect and needed a second choice God created the 7-08 because it’s as close to perfect as you can get. There’s literally no other caliber that can compare to those two for whitetail deer hunting.

The beauty of all these caliber of the month hosers is there’s still 30-06 ammo around lately and a used Rem bolt or pump in 30-06 is often less than $400 and just as good at flopping deer as anything out there.

I bought a 270. Just would not put them down like the ol 06. Took the scope off of it after 2 seasons and about 8 deer. and went back to where I belong. Fine caliber. Not for me.

Just think, I was hunting with a 308 before the 308 was cool.
