What would you recommend for overseeding thin spots this late in north Alabama?

Cereal rye actively grows when temps are 35 degrees or warmer. It scavenged nitrogen from the soil versus wheat needing it to be added to the soil.

I agree with y’all, I’ve just seen everybody get all worked up about it. That’s pretty much all we planted when I hunted in Bibb county and deer would stand out there and graze for hours.

That's why it's great for a topcoat seed. Stuff will grow absolutely anywhere and doesn't seem to need cut in to germinate. Heck , it will grow in your truck bed for several weeks if it gets wet enough.

Deer no doubt eat it, but other plantings are more preferred, and yes it's hard to get rid of.

I agree, but we are talking about top coating, not planting.

Cereal rye is just as easy to sew and grow and more preferred.

Did you get that info from Biden's pollsters ?

I'm joking. I'm sure it works great.
