Did not realize we had them. Must be escape artists. Some were turned loose in Bankhead in 1925, but by the 30's they figured they had all been killed off. Where’d that info come from? I have never heard about fallow deer being introduced to Bankhead. There was 101 white-tails from Iron Mountain, Michigan introduced in 1925-26.

Never have heard of fallow deer in Alabama anywhere other than the Black Belt and SW counties.

I killed a couple in Wilcox county back in the mid 70s. There were a lot of them in the Millers Ferry area back then, but they were pretty stupid.

We went look at a property in pine hill about 10yrs ago. The land owner showed us a ton of pics of fallow deer he had on the place. He said there was a breeding population in the area. He also told us that if we leased the property that they were off limits. There was some dang nice fallow bucks in those pictures.

I saw some in Wilcox county near Millers Ferry back in the late 70's and early 80's. I think they escaped from a high fence enclosure.
