The rifles shoot like a laser beam. The trigger is adjustable. It's not the greatest trigger, but with a little tweaking, in can be made to be decent. I don't like that style trigger on the American or the Savage Accu Trigger, so both of my American triggers were replaced with a Timney

Only one I had experience with was a 17 cal it wouldn't eject...I'd still buy a bigger caliber cuz u haven't heard anything negative about those for the price

I have a 6.5 Creedmoor and it shots very well! Have the go wild version. The magazine is plastic and fits better when loaded.

Got 2 in 7-08 , compact models. Both are pleasing to shoot. Certainly fine whitetail rifles.

I’ve owned a few Ruger Americans. Currently hunting with a standard model .243. I didn’t care for the extended mag on the Go Wild. I prefer the flush fit of the standard mag. Go Wild is a nice looking package with the camo stock and Cerakote.

My take from messing with a couple of them. Trigger is ok, not great. Stock sucks. Tend to shoot very well. For the price they offer good value.

My buddy has the 6.5 go Wild. Did the Timney replacement trigger, sanded out the barrel channel to make sure there was no contact when on the bipod, bedded a 20 moa rail and put a vx6 on it. That gun will shoot with any custom rifle out there if you keep the round count down to 3-5 and let cool. Have shot out to 1315 with it and it’s sub moa with reloads. I would not blink to buy a predator or go wild. Great shooting guns for the money.

I own a 308 and 243. Both will group incredibly for a $300 gun. I hated the hollow sound if the stock and spray foamed it. I also added a cheek weld pad to both.

my American .308 shot 10" groups, so I sent it back. they sent it back to me without a note and the best I can get is 3" groups. its a shame I like the stock and lightweight but its my worst shooting gun. I guess my .308 is just a 20 yard gun. to sum it up my brand new ruger american is garbage and so is their customer service. thats why ruger doesn't offer a warrenty. had another friend get the precision rifle that aint all that precise. Which model .308 you got? and yeah, they had some Gen 1 RPRs that would not shoot. Never had an issue with their warranty though. I sent them a gun that was dang near destroyed by the owner. They paid for return shipping, then sent a new gun at no charge and a note apologizing for the inconvenience
