Long story short, a few months ago, my PSE Stinger along with my entire bow hunting setup was stolen. A family friend heard about it, and was kind enough to give me an older bow that he had lying around. I’m had some trouble finding the model, but as best as I can tell it seems to be a Bowtech Mighty Mite. I don’t know much about this bow. Do you think it would be worth setting up an older bow like this? Or am I better off just biting the bullet on an entirely new setup?

Old bows are fine. Sounds like you just want to spend some money and if so spend it.

That isn’t the case at all. Which is why I asked if this older bow would be worth fixing up. Thanks!

I am sorry for your loss. The Mighty Mite was the bow that really put Bowtech on the board. I remember when they came out in early 2000's. Older bows have killed plenty of deer. The old Bear Whitetail II probably killed more deer than any other single bow because of its widespread use. I encourage you to take advantage of the fun of a "new to you" set up and have fun with it. Many of us are gearheads and love new equipment (myself included). Yet, as I get older I find that the pressure to keep up with the latest equipment is more expensive than it is productive in filling my freezer. There is nothing wrong with buying new gear as long as you can afford it and enjoy using it. The same can be said for older gear that is still in good shape. Deer can be killed with recurves, new compounds, old compounds, crossbows, and guns. If you can get the bow set for you, have fun and remember why you got into the whole bowhunting thing in the first place. Many of us who have been bowhunting for 20+ years will remember older favorite bows and wonder why we ever traded out of them. I loved my old Buckmaster g-2 (a contemporary of the Mighty Mite) and probably killed more deer with that bow than any since and have wished I could find a new one still in the box...Man, I loved that bow! Anyway, have fun. Keep hunting. Make the best of your situation whether it's a new bow or an old one. A

My best friend has a Mighty Mite and it still shoots like a champ. No reason not to set it up and enjoy it.

Thats all really great to hear! I appreciate all of the feedback and I'm much more confident moving forward with setting up the Mighty Mite now!

Set that bow up and don’t look back! Just make sure you have the string checked out when you have it set up.

Look on eBay if you aren’t happy. Tons of good bows for pennies! Bows are like golf clubs. Wipirthless after a few new generations come out.
