Have y'all heard about the new regulations for hunting deer and turkey in Alabama for this season? I'll post links at the end. We need a Call To Action to get a few strings loosened for this season and then follow through with assuring a change in the regulations for next year! There is a meeting this Saturday where we can all make a difference. If you just want to be heard, call 334-242-3465. In short, the new rule is that hunters must complete a transfer of possession form, which is only valid if it includes your game check confirmation number before you can leave any part of your deer or turkey with a processor, taxidermist, friend etc. For hunters, this would mean that if they do not have a smart phone, access to the internet, or if the app crashes, they must keep their dead animal until they obtain the Game Check Confirmation number. For processors, we will be in violation if caught with any meat without that number. Therefore, there will be even longer lines on a cold Saturday night as we fill out extra paperwork and, the one I am so upset about, we would be forced to turn away customers who have no other means of keeping the meat from ruining, just to prevent citations and fines. Hunters have 48 hours to obtain the Game Check Confirmation number, however, they may not transfer possession without it. It is my goal for processors to also have the 48 hours to receive the number before we are in violation. The ADCNR has implemented this regulation in an effort to have more accurate data to base bag limits and seasons off of. Please read near the bottom of the article below, it is also in their Digest book. We have one shot to make a difference before ADCNR instructs their Enforcement Agents on the particulars of enforcing this, please attend the Conservation Advisory Board Meeting this Saturday if you are in the area (see link) Please call me if you need further explanations: Shana 334-202-9545

what do you mean by that? If it is that they'll have trouble enforcing it... I agree!!! However, this is clearly a step towards overreach, non mandated compliance check?

Every year they keep pushing their luck.alot of people try to be law abiding citizens but we are going to have a lot of
outlaws that they can't control if it keeps up.
Every year it's some new crap like this next year you'll need a lap top computer in your lap to deer hunt.BS

I'll look more into it.ive got the new rules and regs book but haven't read it other than the new zone stuff mad

So what about deboned deer from other states? I live right on the MS/AL state line and may want to use an AL processor. Of course I'd be bringing my deer in de-boned. Here in MS we have no mandatory game check for deer.

call and ask them, I'd love to hear that too! 334-242-3465 I do know it goes for ANY PART OR PIECE of the animal here in AL. You'd probably have to enter your MS hunting license on the transfer of possession form, along with the other info. Actually, now that I think of it, I'll be calling to figure that one out Monday...We start taking in KY and GA deer in September.

Where were you? You put out the CTA, and there were three deer processors that showed up. 2 from Fayette county, and one from Demopolis.

This is why outdoorsmen get railroaded, because they dont stand United, even when others try.
