Thermacell and plenty of bottled water. I’d hunt the heck out of those old fence rows around the pasture. White oaks are usually the 1st to start dropping so maybe you’ll get lucky and a few will have started to fall.
Velvet wall hanger is on my bucket list. Good luck!

Yessir! I’m always gonna shoot what makes me happy and I want everyone else to do the same! If you shoot one be proud of it and don’t worry what anyone else thinks. - SJ22

I'm planning on hunting with my nephew outside Nashville.. Gonna cost me a lot of money if I get a nice one since I can bring the head back to AL unless it is mounted or otherwise taken care of...

Velvet wall hanger is on my bucket list. Good luck! The first is a given! Might even take a little fan! LOL. Same here. But I'm not going to hold out for a monster if i get a chance at a nice racked velvet buck. I'm planning on hunting with my nephew outside Nashville.. Gonna cost me a lot of money if I get a nice one since I can bring the head back to AL unless it is mounted or otherwise taken care of...
I've thought about that too. I think i'll try to cape/clean it up enough to get it back to AL and my normal taxidermist.
