They have been indoctrinated:

https://www.marketwatch.com/story/p...vid-19-concerns-2020-08-02?mod=home-page

" Among the specifics are:

— Player-approved health and safety standards enforced by a third party selected by players to address COVID-19 and serious injury, abuse and death.

— 50% of a sport’s revenue distributed evenly to athletes.

— Medical insurance for six years after college.

— Reduced pay of Pac-12 Commissioner Larry Scott, coaches, administrators.

— 2% of revenue to support financial aid for low-income Black students and community initiatives."

Yep. I'd tell my coaching staffs to have the teams report immediately to begin fall camp and full practice. Anyone that did not show would be immediately removed from the 105 man roster and scholarship withdrawn/cancelled. Wouldn't be any letting your "clucth slip" either. You dont show up day one ready to play, your locker is cleaned out and stuff left on the fieldhouse steps in a garbage bag, no questions asked or taken. You dont get a chance to reconsider or beg your way back onto the team. Scholarship is gone like it never existed to start with.

That's how you put a stop to all this BS in less than 24 hrs.

The problem with just releasing them is the fact another "stupid" team will pick them up if they are any good. The schools know this, and they all will have to figure out a way to stop this. The players are not concerned about Title IX, but the schools have to be concerned about it. It is fine to tell someone else to take a pay cut, do you think anybody wants to be told to take a pay cut by 18 year-olds? If we are telling people to take a pay cut, how about telling "entitled" athletes and celebrities to take no more than a $450,000 salary, and the rest will be split between police, firefighters, paramedics, teachers and our military.

If they don't want to play football and go to college for free they can get a job. Piss on every last one of 'em as far as I'm concerned.

I would rather have player with heart, and wants to play the game vs a premadonna.

It is pathetic that they don't even realize that they are already being paid to play football (or whatever sport they have a scholarship for).

And they are the ones who have been entitled, spoiled and coddled usually going back to junior high school just because of their athletic prowess.

And they get the best living arrangements in Taj Mahal athletic dorms, a free cafeteria - usually one designated just for athletes with better food
then most people . And free medical care. Free tuition and books. And a monthly stipend of spending money.

I put myself through multiple universities working full time and eating potatoes, deer meat and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches every day.
And living in humble small cheap living quarters.

These snowflake prima donna entitlement drama queens don't even know what "exploitation" and sacrifice are.

Just saw an article where WSU coach has supposedly removed 3 players from the active fall camp roster for their participation and support in this "movement". Cleaned out their lockers, removed them from all team chat groups and correspondence and said they needed the extra space for "players that will be playing for us in the 2020 season and want to be here to obtain an education through athletics." Supposedly coach left their scholarships in place for 2020 but they most likely will not have them renewed next season.

Sounds like he selectively cut the "cancer" out before it had a chance to take over the patient. I fully support this coach and his actions 100%. thumbup

A coach needs to tell these players what my granddaddy use to tell me. “Piss in one hand and want in the other and see which one fills up first.”

Two thumbs up for a coach with brains and gonads.

He'll be fired. But kudos to him! Pretty sure i heard part of the phone convo between coach and player (ex) on joxfm earlier. Wish i could have heard it better.

The harder I practice, the luckier I get.
