Yesterday I heard some beagles running just east of my house, not at all unusual. I eased out to the road so I could see what they were running cross the road. Sure enough, within minutes it crossed. 2 gobblers ran across the road with the beagles about 100 yds behind them. Not what I expected at all, a first for me. Think I might try to borrow the beagles from the neighbor in the spring

Had a blue healer track a wounded gobbler for me one time. Dog found it in some brush but it flushed and flew before I could get a finishing shot

I watched a Facebook video of a guy hunting early fall last year and he was showing how he called does into bow range. He had a persimmon tree near him and had picked a few up walking in. There was a doe about 80 yards out and he just dropped one of those persimmons so it sounded like it was falling off the tree. I’ll be danged if that doe didn’t walk straight towards him. Said he does it all the time and it usually works.

virus. Know a guy that keeps a ziploc bag of gravel in his pack. Drops them from the tree when hunting oak flats. Brings them in thinking acorns are falling.

That’s where a pocket full of acorns or rocks during bow season is your friend
