Have y’all’s school system announced the plan for school this year?
Oxford is going to 50% of he kids will go mon/wed and 1st and 3rd Friday. The other 50% will go tues/thurs and the 2nd and 4th Friday. They can also choose to stay at home and do online only school.
I don’t see this working out well......

Me and wife are going to home school my elementary boy. My girls are in high school and will go back. I have faith they can do the distancing. I don’t trust The elementary kids being able to do the things needed.

I'm in Gulfport, MS. Son goes to Catholic school. As of now, they've made changes to make sure each grade / class doesn't mingle with anyone else.....multiple lunch periods, recess times, pickup and drop off areas scattered all over campus. School scheduled to start on August 6th. I assume this is subject to change.

We looked at a very similar plan. A group goes Monday and Tuesday, with remote learning rest of the week for enrichment. B group goes Thursday and Friday, with remote learning on M-Wednesday for enrichment.
This gives us an opportunity to clean and disinfect the school on Wednesday and Saturday when no students are present. I liked this option the best of all the choices we looked at. We dropped this plan and opted to do traditional school Monday thru Friday. I don't think this will work long until a case is confirmed and students are exposed to the carrier. If we have a case confirmed in the school, all students and staff exposed will quarantine for 14 days and be tested before returning to school. The students in quarantine will automatically do remote learning until they return. This is subject to change any minute.
I can't stand a thief.

They should open up the schools wide open to the healthy students as normal and the ones that have impaired immunities should be separated out. These kids are mingling with others as it is. Pool parties, birthday parties and family get togethers, lake and beach outings. It doesn’t matter if it’s your father, mother, brother, sister, aunt, uncle, cousin, friend or stranger. There’s no one out there that is completely sterile and protected from it. Open your eyes.

They are painted into a corner. Something has to give, and I would put my money on a lot less students in school than what is being talked about at this point. The sky is falling crowd is pretty deeply dug in. I do know a lot of kids in this area are homeschooling this year.

Nothing will be "normal" again. This idea that we will "return to normal" is a pipe dream, at least for another year. [quote=Oxford is going to 50% of he kids will go mon/wed and 1st and 3rd Friday. Our school system is going to school like normal. How are they making that possible?

Our school system is going to school like normal. Dang right we are. At some point common sense has to prevail.
