The truck in these pictures is the first 4x4 that I bought myself. I got it in 2003 when Tim was 5 and Ashley was just born because I needed room for two car seats. When Tim turned 16 I gave it to him. When he was 18 he fell asleep on the way home from a friend's house and hit a tree and flipped the truck throwing him out of the back window. God protected him that night. He and I had always wanted to put the motor and transmission in another body so he could have a mud truck to beat around in but we just never got around to it. As most of you know Tim was killed June 21 last year so now I've decided to rebuild this motor and put it and the transmission in another body. Just my crazy way of coping with losing Tim I guess. What I'm looking for has to have a clear title, has to be a 1999, has to be 4x4 and has to have the 4.6l engine. I would prefer it to be an extended cab and step side bed but I will consider others. Also prefer black, red or silver. I've been watching Facebook marketplace but just haven't seen anything that caught my eye. I plan on fixing this thing up nice and not just being a beat around truck.

I can check every box off that list, except I have a 97.

Have a 00’ 2wd lariatt 5.4v8 extended cab. Looks like the one in the pic just maroon and 2wd.

Thanks guys. The engine in my truck is the 4.6l with a coil pack on each side of the engine with plug wires going to the spark plugs. I think Ford put this engine in the 97, 98 and 99. They changed to coil packs on each plug in 2000. The 5.4l engines have coil packs on each plug so the wiring is different. My mechanic skills are not good enough to change the computer and wiring to convert a 5.4l model to fit my 4.6l. Also the transmissions are different.
