I’m thinking he means realistically. I would look at fire extinguishers, guns WITHOUT ball ammo. You don’t want to be blamed for an “innocent” and a BIG dog. If there is someway you can funnel people in thru an entry way without them breaking stuff that would help too. Concentrate them so you can make it easy.

This is real and there is no innocent.

There are a many bear sprays that are Way more effective than police strength capsicum based sprays. They are limited by rules. Most of the high end sprays can end with a trip to the hospital, milk will barely touch it.

Excellent point, if possible, re-arrange your shelving so that it starts at the walls of your store and runs to a center isle in the middle of the store. If possible, you want to be concentrating on covering/shooting one spot rather than having to cover both center, left and right. If the shelving starts flush with your walls and extends uninterrupted from the wall to your center walkway, you've greatly reduced the amount of space you have to cover.

Maybe a few sheets of heavy plywood to bolster your front cover from impacts (front or back of counter)..or somewhere to take strategic cover behind, if they’re emboldened enough to venture into the store.

I’m referring to claymores and bombs. That’s not something he has readily available

I’m concerned with my commercial policies all having terrorism exclusions in them. Any and all damages incurred during riots and protests will not be covered. This has drastically altered my approach to the protests planned for AlexCity tomorrow. My office is less than a block from the gathering place and if my insurance isn’t going to protect my investments, then I will be forced to.

That’s the thing most don’t know/understand...a LOT of insurance won’t cover it and most have life savings tied up in inventory and real-estate !

That’s BS, what’s the point in having these policies if it won’t cover most of this stuff.

Need to check with your carrier/agent with regard to what your policy actually says and excludes with regard to covered perils. With things where they stand right now, your normal property coverage should cover it under "normal covered perils" (property damage resulting from, vandalism, theft, and fire), unless there is a specific exclusion for civil unrest which most "rated" policies from reputable, well capitalized insurers, do not have listed as a specific exclusion.

The one's I've seen do specifically use the terms civil unrest, riots and strikes as events they don't over.

I saw a bus of traveling protesters leaving town heading towards Greenville or I-65 South and have not heard of any issues from their time here so maybe CAL won't have a bad time. If you do sue the state and Aunt Bea for not providing protection after Trump implored her and the other Govs. to do so.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Ours with Auto Owners and Lloyds absolutely do not. I confirmed this personally with our agent and carrier Monday. We've got terrorism coverage too but our standard coverages most definitely fully covers where things are at this point in the game, in the event that we incur a loss as a result of someone tossing a moltov cocktail or something of that nature. Straight from the carrier's mouth.

A crate of molly coks on the roof in case you need to rain hot fire. If you have to use one use them all and act ignorant if the law shows up.

Also maybe some comms. Walkies maybe. I like the marine radios.

You are allowed to misuse a marine radio for emergency purposes ONLY. Please don’t use them for regular comms unless you are on a boat or an industry related business. The FCC monitors for this even inland. They WILL find you. Please don’t do this. You might get away with it for a while, but one day you’ll get a visit.

Defending your business is an emergency, also, I've used them for the last 10 years and they haven't found me.

Customer of mine in Atlanta has one of those things that screw on to a propane tank that makes a loud boom for scaring crows out of fields. He has it ready to go if needed. My answer to your question, talk to your insurance agent about your coverage. Don't risk life for your business. My store was set on fire by arson back in 2001, took a while, but we rebounded.
