Buncha damn Yankee's done infiltrated that place. Nothing new. They have a fruit and nut district and it's not just because of the name of the streets. The Fruit & Nut district has some of the best sunsets in Alabama so it’s not all bad. Our Mayor....well hopefully she will be one term. Unfortunately Fairhope is a victim of its own success and character- it’s just gotten way too crowded in the past decade plus. I miss the Fairhope I moved to in the early/mid-90’s. And don’t worry about the Walmart- It started off in the police jurisdiction so partial sales tax and I’m 99% sure it’s now fully annexed in.

I hope your interaction with the officer was good and pleasant as I can assure you he didn't want to be there. He's thinking "Damn I've got too many other things I need to be doing right now. The are just called bullshat calls because you have to answer them an you know your not going to do anything as far as LE so they are a wasted of time just to make a busibody happy. We all hate those calls.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

My mother used to drag me into that forsaken town every time we headed home from the coast. It was my version of hell with antiques and oriental rugs back then, and it doesn’t sound like it’s gotten any better since. Yep same

Little mind your own business or ask what I'm doing story. I'm in the live bait business and have a 500 gallon water tank with a 3'' pump on a trailer. Couple months after 9-11, I go to the boat ramp on incoming tide to get water, the only car in the parking lot that cold night is a snowbird. Do my normal thing, back down the ramp, hook up the hose, crank pump, start pumping water. Five minutes later I hear the sound of police car sirens, then they get louder and louder then next thing I know their on me, then two fire trucks show up. Snow bird called 911 and said there was a terrorist dumping chemicals into the water. Most of the guys knew what was going on as soon as they saw my rig and didn't come over to me, but strait to the jerk that called to set him strait in a firm way. Have hauled water water for 30 years, up to seven days a week and have been asked thousands of times what I'm doing but never that.

The pier in Fairhope was built for everybody to enjoy and to go fishing on. Then years ago the local liberals that have over taken the town decided that they couldn’t have common folks coming from Spanish Fort, Daphne, Bay Minette, Silverhill, Robertsdale and Mobile County enjoying their safe space. Where the snobs go to gather every evening with their wine, lap dogs that they treat better than other people and watch the sun go down and talk about how their chit don’t stink.

Most folks that live in Fairhope will drown if they get caught out in the rain.

Shoulda pitched his ass in the water and said “Call the police now, bitch.” It woulda been more trouble but you would’ve felt pretty good for like 10 seconds. You could’ve also asked him “How long has it been since you’ve had a country ass-whooping?” I don’t really do any of this stuff. I just like being a “keyboard badass” or whatever they call it. But if I get off my meds, all bets are off.

Charley if you'd keep yer arse at home, things wouldn't happen to you ! Sorry that happened buddy, was your son with you ? At least ya'll got a little sun and fresh air. When I was around 8 or 9 my mother used to take me and little brother to swim in the bay water on a muddy beach in Fairhope that had cypress trees.I remember how the mud stank and I dung mussels from the bottom with my feet. Can't say it was a great memory !

We all hate those calls. It was not pleasant. As he walked away his last words were he was coming back fix me, whatever that means. If he had actually known the law and been polite I would have moved along to a spot down the road at the boat ramp where i talked to the game warden a few days ago to make sure I was legal. He didnt have to worry about wasting his time because his job for the day was to sit in his car blocking a walking trail about a half mile long that on a busy day people get maybe 25 yards from each other. He had to get out of the ac and walk maybe 50 yards to where I was. There were people with hammocks strung up in the park he wasnt worried about. If its legal to be there its legal for me to fish.

It was a good lesson for him I think in constitutional rights and the importance of reading and researching the law so you arent taken advantage of by the over reach in authority going on today. I was reasonable and didnt fly off the handle with them. I still have your number perch and will check in with you one day just been a lot going on lately.

They closed the pier weeks ago. It was well publicized. The beaches in the whole state are closed to fishing. I don’t agree with it at all but, that is what was done. You would have gotten the same reaction anywhere in the state.
Fairhope is one of, if not the most desired, town in the state of Alabama. Schools, crime, demographics, etc. I’ll agree there is too many people, Too much traffic, and good hunting is too far away. However, you don’t have to lock your doors or worry about your kids playing in the front yard.
