I love Kimber pistols they had a bad batch of MIM parts that gave them a bad rap awhile back. they are solid guns.i don't recommend a single action for a person that doesn't shoot regular and doesn't understand firearms well though not saying she doesn't I just know how most females are.most need double action only pistol or j-frame revolvers to be safe and want to carry it and feel good about it.and yes those little kimbers are very nice looking.i want a ultra carry 2 pretty bad

Get her the aluminum 9 or 45 commander length. True you gain weight (27 oz to 16 oz) but you also make a considerable jump in ease of shooting and yes the 380 works as a backup piece just fine but that's it's place backup. Yes the 9&45 will recoil more but ammos cheap and hospital bills are expensive so if you two are committed get some 165 hydra-shoks or the 124 gold dots and get practicing.

Skinny is my EX.Alcohol was involved.

How much experience does your wife have with handguns? And you need to drop the "I like" part of all this if you're really getting the weapon for her. The weapon MUST fit HER hand and she MUST be comfortable with it and confident in shooting it, regardless of your impressions.

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

My wife hates the lcp 380 but has no issues with a s&w airweight 38.

Try and let her shoot several if u have access to.

I would do the Micro 9 over the 380. Hardly any size/weight difference.

She has a Taurus 38 lightweight. Shoots it well. She really liked the looks of the kimber. I just picked up the sig p238 and love it. I will get her to shoot it and see what she thinks.

I had a micro raptor 380 that was dead reliable and super accurate. I now tote a micro CDP 9 it’s just as good. The 9 is pretty lively with hot +P rounds but very manageable for me.
