At church Sunday the preacher said that "if you are not saved, your prayers are not going any higher than the roof"
Wondering what yall's thoughts are on this. After searching the word, I think I have my answer but I would like to see what you personally think.
I love the rut. The woods are like a bunch of roided up meatheads fighting over a girl.

Yes. He is all knowing. Here are some examples: When a nonbeliver prays to receive Christ he hears that. Thief on the cross was heard, the prayer of the tax collector, the roman guard who prayed. Now my question is why would a "non believer" pray? who are they praying to? I am so thankful the Lord sees our hearts.

Isaiah 5:20 Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.

I do not believe that to be true at all.

Opinions aside, the primary resource to look at is the Bible.
If I regard iniquity in my heart, The Lord will not hear (Psalm 66:18).
But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear (Isaiah 59:2).
You have also given me the necks of my enemies, So that I destroyed those who hated me. They cried out, but there was none to save; Even to the Lord, but He did not answer them (Psalm 18:40-41).

If he doesn’t there would be no way for the unsaved to pray for God to come into their heart and grant them salvation. Yep.

I guess I could have worded it different, I meant your interpretation of the bible on that comment. I would also like to point out John 9:31 "Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth" With that being said, If God hears sinners what is the sense in being saved?

At church Sunday the preacher said that "if you are not saved, your prayers are not going any higher than the roof" God is all-knowing & all-powerful - that being the case, He hears everything; not hearing the sermon, i wonder if your preach was more speaking on the subject of the "answering" part ... the book of Daniel is quite an interesting case study on how God hears & responds to un-believers -- what He did to Nebuchadnezzar should get anybody's attention ... YES, we're in New Testament times now (thank God!), but that doesn't invalidate examples seen in the OT

ALDeer physics: for every opinion, there's an equal & opposite opinion
A wise man can learn more from a foolish question than a fool can learn from a wise answer.

Sola scriptura-the Bible is our only source of authority on spiritual matters. The verses I quoted are self-sufficient. There is only one interpretation that the original penman intended. God only answers those that are His sheep (Believers). Jesus said, "Repent and believe the gospel". If one has not repented of their sin and in a process of regeneration, they are not His.

He said, "Repent and believe the gospel", in Mark 1:15.

You sir, are correct. Sola Scriptura. Psalm 34:15 "The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous and his ears toward their cry." 1 Peter 3:12 "For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil."
Sow righteousness for yourselves and reap faithful love; break up your unplowed ground. It is time to seek the Lord until He comes and sends righteousness on you like the rain. - Hosea 10:12

From my interpretation, of this all, The only time he hears a sinner pray, is if it is a prayer of repentance.

Entering the Kingdom
13 “Enter through the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the road is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who go through it. 14 How narrow is the gate and difficult the road that leads to life, and few find it.
15 “Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravaging wolves. 16 You’ll recognize them by their fruit. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes or figs from thistles? 17 In the same way, every good tree produces good fruit, but a bad tree produces bad fruit. 18 A good tree can’t produce bad fruit; neither can a bad tree produce good fruit. 19 Every tree that doesn’t produce good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 So you’ll recognize them by their fruit.
21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord!’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to Me, ‘Lord, Lord, didn’t we prophesy in Your name, drive out demons in Your name, and do many miracles in Your name?’ 23 Then I will announce to them, ‘I never knew you! Depart from Me, you lawbreakers!’ _Holman Christian Standard Bible
