In Walker County we always have had to show our ID to vote. Is that standard throughout the state? The polls were about as crowded today as I have ever seen them. Still only took me about 10 min. Where do you vote? I vote at the old Thach School and it was fairly crowded this evening. I believe I was the 282nd ballot.

HA! Just started (finally!) in Miss’ippi a few years back...the voter ID part, yet we were the first state’s Dem party leaders to be charged and found guilty of white voter intimidation/suppression. HERELots fewer dead voters, but a good many still rise up on election day. The year before it started, an older black lady was behind me in line mumbling about who she was, here, looking down the list on her iPad (big signs all over that all devices are prohibited in the polling areas). I was impressed with the system in Montgomery. Scanned ID. Confirmed it was me. Signed. Got receipt to get ballot Yep. Easy and fast in Pike Road.

I was fishing mine out of my wallet as soon as I walked in the door. I went about 12:30 and I was in the 120s on the Republican side and noticed there had only been 11 from the other side come vote at that time.
I have always had to show my DL here to vote. In Texas, I had to show my DL and my voter registration card.

There are provisions for someone to vote without ID, red tape involved though.

She was about to call someone for assistance and I handed her my DL, scanned it and good to go.

I not only had to show mine this morning, they scanned/swiped it
I like it that way. I hope it cuts down on voter fraud Agree 100%. We have to show id to buy alcohol, cigarettes, rent movies, buy some OTC medicines, rent a car... no one complains. Ask some people to show id to vote and its racism, discrimination and whatever else can be thought of to call it.
