What would be a good lure or two start out with over the next couple of weeks as the weather starts warming? I just got access to several ponds and fixing to try em out.

Shad rap rapala, shallow runner with the crooked bill. You can absolutely wear the bass out in a pond with one of these. And as stated above about any texas rigged worm will get em. You might alsu try a wacky worm. You can hardly go wrong in a pond

I've got all those. I'll try them all and see what works best next time. I went today but only managed 3 fish in 2 hours time. I used a brown and yellowish rooster tail. I got 3 hits and caught all 3.

Alot of times a particular pond will like a particular bait too. Im pretty impatient in a pond fishing. If they havent bit a certain bait or color in a few minutes, id switch. But I would think that shad rap within 15ft of the bank is gona get bit

I like to have 2 rods ready. Majority of my casts are with a single Colorado blade 3/8oz spinnerbait in black/blue or black/yellow. If I miss a fish follow up with a soft plastic, usually 6in zoom worm: pumpkin seed w/ chartreuse u-tail.

Pond fishing for bass I've always had a ton of success using texas rigged worms or lizards, purple or green pumpkin seed, Strike King Mini King Spinner Baits, Rooster Tails of all varieties.

If you have the ability to observe what the other folks are throwing, do that and then throw something else. Our neighborhood lake gets absolutely hammered spring through fall. I mean like constant pressure. There's decent fish but the water gets beat to a froth with fishing pressure. I used to get frustrated because I'd like my kids to catch some fish, but then tried to be smart about it and watch what was being used (almost exclusively soft plastics) so I just picked up a few baits that I hadn't seen anyone use, and it's worked like a charm.

I like a suspending shallow running crank bait in a cold pond.

What are you trying to catch? I think I have caught about every fish in my pond (bass, crappie, bluegill) on the little small rebel grasshopper looking crankbait

Senko type worm for bites. Texas rigged or wacky if it has sparse cover.

Zoom Ol Monster worm Texas rigged with a light weight for a biggun

Rapala F11S for fun
