Well dammit, I've managed to lose an envelope with $2,000 cash in it. Picked it up Friday morning from the bank & last night realized it's gone. I've torn apart my car, the clothes I was wearing & the house looking for it.
I've been stressed with work & getting all the junk out of the house for getting the flooring all replaced($2,000 was to pay for materials/install). Of course, looking back, I should have immediately placed the envelope in the gun safe when I got home, but that just makes entirely too much sense.
Hopefully, it will show up, but I'm chalking this up to a life lesson. I absolutely CANNOT trust myself with cash, the shyt just disappears.
I pay my bills on time&religiously & invest routinely, but I've realized cash is an absolute liability for me. No cash is not King for me. The fuking dishwasher leaking late last year has caused me/I've caused myself so much work, stress and now money.
Sorry for the rant, have a good Sunday.

I'm extremely frustrated. Prior to my dishwasher leaking and ruining most of the flooring in the condo I didn't have much of an opinion on dishwashers. I sure do have an opinion on dishwashers now.

Did you did through your trash? I've thrown away stuff before without realizing it. Found it by digging through the trash.
Good luck. Quite frustrating, no doubt.

Other thing I've done before, and it's also frustrating but helps, is to take a moment to calm down and write down every single thing you did.
Left bank on College Street with money. Went to Hamilton's for a mimosa and salad Used bathroom in Hamilton's to clean vagina after having a mimosa. Paid bill, walked to truck parked on Magnolia. Drove to Lowe's pick up tubing for dishwasher. On and on ...
It takes time but recount every step, even at home.

I would check the trash. Also the pockets of whatever you were wearing. Good luck finding it. That sucks.

It wasn’t $2k but I was headed home one day with the sun in my face and no sunglasses so I flipped my sunvisor down and a bank envelope with $100 cash fell in my lap. I had stuck it up there several weeks earlier and forgot. Worth a peak.
Good luck with the search, I hope it turns up.

That sucks! Take a minute and just breathe. Clear your mind a little and walk through your day in your memory.
Would you have taken it inside with you anywhere between the bank and home (office, girlfriend's, friend's, restaurant). Might it be with your work stuff (briefcase, etc)?
Do you specifically remember taking the envelope inside with you? Check your wallet - did you take the cash out of the envelope? Above the visors in the car? Under the seats, between the seats and console? Door pockets of car? On top of fridge? In freezer?
Find a hypnotist and see if they can help you retrace your steps?
Oh, and instead of just accepting that you cannot keep up with cash - practice doing it (just with a much smaller amount) so in situations when you need to have cash, it will work out better.
