Don't know how to post link where you can watch straight from here, but this is a great video on the effects of trapping or lack there of on turkey populations. Shows how all the money that went to "turkey research" wasted by our current regime up top could have been spent to increase incentives to trap predators.

As a kid growing up in rural walker county trapping was a part of life as was coon hunting
There weren't many boys I knew at that time that didn't trap or coon hunt and we didn't have coyotes back then to deal with
I remember seeing flocks of 25-30 turkeys on a regular basis and that's far from the case now
I hunted some property for 5 years and started trapping it soon as I acquired it
The results I saw after year 3 were amazing I had some of the best turkey hunts ive ever had because of trapping that property
Its a lot of work and really wears me out running trap every day but the rewards are worth it

The older I get the better I used to be

If you love your turkeys. You need to be using dog proofs and killing as many nest predators as possible.
