if Alabama hunters are too stupid to keep up with different zones/dates for deer or turkey seasons...how are us ignerent folks supposed to keep up with changing opening dates for turkey season.
Was there some big problem with March 20??? You know like it was for fortyelebenmillion years??? Some folks just need to learn when to let chitt alone.

Folks are trying to ruin turkey hunting like they did deer hunting. I agree. They need to stay in their sandbox and leave chit alone.

While I agree that they should leave it alone, they print a little booklet that’s in most gas stations that has the dates and there’s a website but if I recall you didn’t think the booklet was correct when I posted it several months ago

the booklet is not an official printing of the dept and is not admissible in court. I have seen several mistakes in it over the years and would not trust it myself. It tends to give the "cliff books" version of the laws and regulations and leave out some important stuff.

I don't get the "it isn't fair" crap about when a season starts or finishes...it will equal out over time. If anyone thinks life is based on fairness they need to have their head examined.

Won't be long now till we have to make it fair for everybody who sucks at turkey hunting to be able to see and kill turkeys and let them buy a bait permit to put out scratch feed too.

I don't know the historical background in Alabama, but I do know that other states have avoided the weekend start to reduce pressure/accidents. Seems funny that AL with it's very liberal limits and season would want to get more hunters all out on one Saturday in March.

Sounds like a move backwards.

Friday before Thanksgiving for deer, March 20 for turkey for the last thousand years. Till they decided to pander to the butthurt crowd.

How long had it been a March 15th opening?

It's been March 15th for at least 20 years.

Leave me out of this. rofl
There’s no fun in just killing a turkey. It’s playing the whole game and getting your arse whipped by them for years before killing one. I finally don’t have to worry about a rice crop and can hunt more and they move the date back and make me wait longer.

They don’t need a bait permit. You might be surprised at how much turkey feed I find during season. Not even trying to hide it.

Every bird I have ever killed (all 3 of them laugh ) has been in the last 2 days of their respective seasons. And they gobbled their fool heads off.

Shouldn't have to buy a permit to hunt any animal over feed. Heck, I've hunted turkeys over peanut fields, chufas plots, and green fields for years. Doesn't make me a better or worse hunter for hunting over these bait food sources.

Not sure I follow you. Are you saying you think it should be ok to sit and shoot turkeys over a pile of corn?

Why even have a season when there is a limit on the total number you can kill during a given year?
