All swimjigs are not equal. Some catch trash and hang easily due to type and position of hook eye. I don't enjoy fishing that has to be cleaned after every cast.

Pretty effective on grass lakes like Guntersville. I'm no expert on the subject but I've caught several swimming jigs over the suspended grass.

What trailer y’all like on swim jigs?

I like a few different ones. Kicking B's, paca chunks, and swimming flukes.

Something flappy, like a Netbait Baby Paca or Strike King Baby Rage Craw or Yum Craw Papi. I want something with some movement and wiggle.

Have tried small 3-inch swimbaits but I don't care for them.

I pretty much stick with white/chart or black/blue jigs, whatever looks like shad or bluegill. They work pretty much anywhere, including for redfish in shallow mashes. For those I go with something that looks like a crab or mullet.

I have used swim jigs more the last two years with increased confidence more than a chatterbait. White with some red in it and a pack craw in white maybe dipped in a little chartreuse on tips. Bream color too when they start spawning or coming off. My biggest in several years came off white one. She had just laid out and went 5# 15oz. Early March time frame.

I'm a white on white guy most of the time. I'm trying to simulate a shad. Yes I will dip the tips like Drake if it's not really clear. I don't like a poca because they are hollow and don't last long. I prefer A Flappy Daddy from Gambler. This is an example of the type eye I prefer in a swimjig. I also tie my own skirts with white and glimmer strands. Check the eye on these heads and you'll see what I mean about this type not catching trash or that pesky hairlike moss that grows in most out our lakes. You also need a 4/0 or 5/0 hook in a good swimjig.
