Rain and thunderstorms ran us out of Coosa county so we made a long run to club in lowndes. No rain so far. No deer either. Congrats claybird!

I'm sitting here in the shooting house at my farm watching it pour down rain. Got Sadie pup by my side. We both got soaked on our walk down here. Can't imagine that a deer would be out in this mess so really don't expect to see anything. I don't really care but Sadie sure likes watching them. Does she track after you shoot?

She is very well behaved and hunts with me often. She does track deer too. Has found several for me. She is my buddy and I tell everyone that she is the best dog that has ever owned me.

Man that brindle female Mountain Cur I had was the same way Cuz. Looked just like yours. Smart as anything too. Heck of a dog.  Hope she sees some.

We wound up seeing 4 deer this afternoon. Two pretty good sized does and 2 yearlings. Let them walk on by. Sadie pup looked at me like I was crazy. She knows we are supposed to shoot those deer so she can taste some blood. I explained to her that we were saving some "seed stock" for next year. She seemed okay with that after the good explanation.  Spent a little time in prayer right at dark thanking the Good Lord above for letting us enjoy His creation and then we got down and walked home in the rain. Just finished up giving Sadie a bath. She and I have had a wonderful season. God truly blessed us both to be able to enjoy it together. Sadie is the first OMC dog I've had in my life and she makes me wonder sometimes why I waited so long to get one. They don't come no smarter than she is.

ended up seeing a yearling and a spike with one broken off. Son saw 4 small ones. Put a bow on this season. It was a good one! Now on to spring time!
