I have a Nissan Frontier Crew Cab with the short 5' bed. The rear cab is not the largest from a storage point of view, and from time to time on trips I'm left putting a lot of gear in the bed. That doesn't work during rain storms or when I need to store items I don't want stolen while stopping in public. I still want to preserve the ability to use the bed for hauling taller bulky items, so I don't want to do the camper shell thing.

What have yall used as folding hard tonneau covers? What brand works best for water tightness? I've about narrowed it down to Bakflip MX4 and the Extang Exceed. Both of those will allow the 3rd section to fold straight up for total bed access. They are both pretty expensive through and I want make sure this is a good decision. I would be pretty disappointed if they leaked excessively (as in - volumes of water just pouring during an extended rain storm).

What say Aldeer??

I have had 2 Lomax brand. Really like them. Very water proof and easy to remove if needed.

I’ve got a Bakflip F1 on my truck and have had it for about 4 years now. I got it for the same reasons you listed, and it’s been great for being able to still flip it up out of the way for tall stuff. It does let a little bit of water in if it’s an absolute turd floater, but it’s typically just at the corners and probably due to not putting the little drain tubes in. It’s never bothered me enough to mess with it though.

AMB has got the nicest one I ever seen. It has tiedowns and you can park a 4-wheeler on top of it.

My wife has a Gator rolling cover that we are very happy with. Not folding, but works well.

I recently put an Undercover on mine and like it. Made by same people who make Bak Flip. None of the folding type can be completely water proof, but to maximize water resistance you need to add a tailgate seal.

After you get enough suggestions, go to www.truck-hero.com to see their huge selection of bed covers from numerous manufacturers.

I had a hard time forking over the $$ for mine, but it is great.
