I have not been to a gun show a Von Braun center in many years. Thinking about going tomorrow morning and was wondering if anyone had been lately.

Others would say it's the best time to have one. Depends on how you look at it I guess.

I haven't been to the VBC since they made it a gun free zone.

Not a bad show, picked up a pound of H335 powder. Prices seemed to be a little high, it’s hard for the Huntsville market to compete with Larrys. Not much non gun stuff at all .

Because the people who book shows don't know chit about hunting season, don't look at calendars, and book the openings when they're available.

Many years ago a fishing lure company couldn't understand why their bass tournament on Guntersville didn't have the turnout they wanted. They had it in September when Alabama and Auburn were playing home games.

They had no concept of looking at the calendar, football schedules, NASCAR schedule, anything else. They just thought, "We'll put on a tournament, they'll all show up!"

Planning isn't difficult.

Half the guys I sold guns to today at Larry's had the VBC gun show smiley face stamp on their hand. Non stop busy all day.

Does Larry’s do trades or does he have to keep it on pawn for so many days then you get to trade?

Pawn is a separate business on the other side of the store - gun trades are done on the sales part. No connection between the two. Larry's buys guns across the counter and accepts them as trades toward other firearms. Do quite a bit really. No hold or waiting period for one being bought by the store. They are held for a certain time before being sold but I don't deal with that. I just take them in as trades and sell both new and used guns.

Shoot, I factor all of those things into planning youth group events. I have no idea why you wouldn't plan around that in the outdoor world.

I started to go by the Huntsville store after the show but went on home, have not been to that one lately. They got me busted several years ago at one of the big sales. I was on night shift and went to bed as usual, then got up and went to Larrys after my wife went to work. I was about the 10th person in line and someone snapped a pic and posted it to their Facebook page!
