Is there a herbicide that will kill sweet gum sprouts without killing all trees? I had a few acres clean cut this past summer and would like to spray to kill gums and hedges, without killing pines. I know it will kill my small oaks, but I can set out more or throw a bunch of acorns out next fall. Thanks I’m advance.

In Tractor Supply they have Brushtox with triclopyr that should work for you, I think they say to mix 4 quarts to 100 gallons. I would use a lower pressure with large droplet to keep control of the spray.

Triclopyr and glyphosate

Find out what the timber company’s spray. That chit kills everything judging by the looks of the woods I hunted recently. Do all timber company’s use that stuff now? I could not even find a honeysuckle bush

Arsenal will be your best bet to kill them. If these were bigger sweetgums be prepared for a longer fight. You will be spraying sprouts that have a large root system compared to the foliage you will be spraying. It may take a few cycles to get them all. Yes it will kill other trees, but not pines. I would mix it at 0.75% v/v.

If you do the things you need to do when you need to do them then someday you can do the things you want to do when you want to do them.
