Just heard there are a number of trees down around Borden Springs in Cleburne Co. Power is out and roads are blocked by downed trees. Waiting to hear word if anything fell at my grandparents place up there. Glad this storm seems to be calming down. Should be getting some wind and rain from it later tonight here in SC.

Pretty much a non-event here. Lost satellite for about 5 minutes, a little wind and some rain and it’s petering out. Thoughts with you north Bama boys dealing with damage.

The radar signature on what rolled through the Bham area Hoover and north said 70mph, so I reckon APCO is working their butts off as fast they can to get the lights back on.

I'm astonished that I didn't lose power. Marshall-DeKalb must have done some serious ROW trimming over the summer and fall. Before today a 20mph gust would have me in the dark.

Mine never blinked in Hoover; but we did get a blow

Things got a little hairy here in south Coosa county this afternoon. I don’t think I’ve ever seen wind like that outside of a hurricane. Lots of trees down, our barn roof lost some tin, and there’s a bunch of water. Nothing major damage from what I can see though.

Me too and I didn't lose power either.

This same type of tree damage happens a lot down here. Clear cut a stand of timber, leave the big trees next to the road, they come down in the next wind event.

In English, it means there's 500 customers reporting power outages. But today's smart meter technology can also self report an outage, and I'm guessing Mr paintrock isn't including that number.

My backyard got rearranged. Got scared when it went all white for about 15 seconds.

Power is still of up on top of the mountain as well JRS. Just talked to the grandparents and their place is good and they got the generator going. The local roads are still being worked on by the volunteer FD but all is well. No structure damage they know of.
