Making time for hunting is a constant struggle. My tendency is to cram so much activity into daily life that hunting has to fight for a spot on the calendar. Every man puts his priorities exactly where they are. And for me, hunting is a big priority. Not my ultimate priority, but a big priority. I may have to work long hours to free up space, but I am going to make time to hunt. It may mean I use some vacation days, skip a dinner party with friends, or DVR the ballgame, but I am going to hunt. Hunting is part of who I am. That is a good thing when I keep it in perspective. I'm so thankful that God gave me such a deep passion for the outdoors. My struggle is to keep it in balance with the highest priorities. This article speaks to hunters like me. Maybe it speaks to you too. https://radical.net/articles/why-th...DSo_vIIYAXea-7n4nLXz9iI743mAnf7G0pSFB9f0

I see your problem already Sir. Your priority is not hunting nor the outdoors. The only grub with friends is at camp and the only church is the deerstand.
There is no pew that allows Communion with God (for me) the way sitting alone, praying, thanking, and enjoying his splendor in the great outdoors does.
That redbird on a cold gray day, the otters getting your attention on the creek, the owl that drops a half eaten opossum into a fork in the tree next to you from 40’ up, the deer at five yards, the squirrel that fights you for your cliff bar, the way the morning light peeks through the trees and makes fall leaves glow, the different waves of silence and life in the woods as if on a timer.

No Sir, you ain’t. Hunting season doesn’t last all year and there are Bible studies to include Wednesday night services.
If sitting alone in silence and peace praying and watching two bucks spar on a sandbar ain’t “Church”, nuthin is.

I’ll just put it out here as plainly as I can - if you believe that you can be a Christian and not attend church to fellowship and worship with other believers, you are out of line with the Bible, the final authority on God’s design for all rule of life and especially His church. I agree. As my pastor says, Amen or Oh Me!

You’re argument isn’t with me, it is with the Bible. It is clear that we are expected to regularly and faithfully attend church as Christians, and that hunting/sports/other hobbies never to be a substitute or replacement for that, no matter what sort of spiritual spin you put on that hobby or activity. ^^^This

I certainly enjoy hunting and fishing.
But I don't remmber any qualifiers or exceptions in the Bible about attending church except during peak rut, when turkeys are gobbling, if a good migration of mallards has arrived or when the fish are biting,

Hebrews 10:24-25; And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

There is no neglect in changing one’s patterns, and my Grace is given free because of my belief.
As long as it floats you fella’s boat and makes you feel good about your relationship with God for whatever reason, more power to ya.
Me, In addition to my worship, I’m gonna give God thanks and kill those animals he gave me to do with...
Amen!
