should be entertaining, if nothing else!!! Football in Mississippi is fun again, even if they do lose a lot. I seriously think that with him they will win some that they aren't supposed to win and other teams won't look forward to playing them.

Going to be pure gold at the end of the summer during SEC media days. Ah, man. Hadn't even thought of that but you're right. IMO the best media days were for hoops when Sonny, Wimp, Hugh Durham and Dale Brown were coaching, followed by football in the mid-late 2000s. Is Leech better than Mullen? No. He's better than anyone else they could have gotten , though. I think he'll win some big games at State but if he doesn't get a really good D coordinator they'll lose some they shouldn't, too.

I think he'll win some big games at State but if he doesn't get a really good D coordinator they'll lose some they shouldn't, too. A good defensive coordinator won't matter. Leach simply doesn't care about defense. Thinks he can outscore anyone. He'll make a lot of teams uncomfortable, though. He won't win any more than average, but opposing fans will get tired of giving up 400 yards of passing to them.

I think he'll hire a good D-coordinator and get out of the way. MSU fans are going to have a hard time adjusting. CAN'T FRIGGIN' WAIT to see this season. The Egg Bowl may be nothing but backyard football "Go long!"

Mississippi always has lamented being overlooked, ignored, cast down. That's all true, of course, but beside the point.
Now, though, they will be the center of the football universe. The SEC West already was a pit of fire and craziness. It just intensified by a brazillion.

The questions I have about Leech are, does he know the type of athlete it takes to compete in the SEC? Small and fast will get you smashed in this league. Will he adjust the pace of his offense until he has enough depth on defense to compete? Can he even recruit the South with his crazy persona? I think Kiffin will do ok at Ole Miss but I've got reservations about Leech. MSU could afford to gamble on him because, really, what have they got to lose?

It's definitely a splash hire for them but I don't think will be a good one in the long run. He's not known as a recruiter, he doesn't have ties to the southeast, and he's never really won anywhere he's been despite the offensive numbers he's known for
