I’m sitting in a tall tripod on top of the biggest hill on our place over looking some 3 yr old pines. Saw a couple young bucks cruising around yesterday. Hope one of the good ones I have on camera gets up and moves around today.

On the edge of newly thinned longleaf pines and bedding area. Still waiting for the big one. Good luck everyone and be safe.

A doe and two yearlings just slipped by. Maybe a nice buck will be behind them.

Present again. Rut is firing up, got here early, had bucks on camera all night, and right at first shooting light my dog issues continue. Two black labs come off the road and are now running all around me. Just FYI putting an orange collar on your dog doesn't give you the right to let it run all over someone else's property. My hunts over before I can even see the sun

Back in a shooting house in Coosa. Alarm didn’t go off so was an hour late getting here. Bumped one in woods walking in. Man it’s beautiful out here today!

Had the same issues last year but surprisingly I still saw deer almost every sit that i saw the dogs. But its frustrating as all get out and gets my blood pressure through the roof.

It is not the dogs fault. The owner should be held accountable. Being the dogs have a collar, I would check and see if there was a tag on it. If so the owner
And I would have a talk. If no tag , I would not kill the dogs but I might pick up limb and beat the hell out of them. I always think that these might be some kids Dogs
And I try to think about that. Hopefully you can find another outcome rather than killing them.

Had a doe train of 4 big does and 2 yearlings pass thru about 30 mins ago.

3 does and a yearling came down mountain headed for the cedars and rock garden on the sunny side. Really thought some chasing should be going on now?

Just to be clear I wasn't saying I was going to shoot them. I have a pack of dogs back at home and it makes me sick thinking about a family losing what may be a good family friend just because it came snooping near my hunting spots. And no it isn't the dogs fault, it's the turdhead owner that feels like slapping an orange collar on his family companion is somehow equal to a free pass to go anywhere.

I got down and tried to gather them dogs up and whaddya know, they won't mind a bit or listen and won't come. I've tried before. Maybe be one day I can catch the home they run back to, but that's my best hope.

Ended up seeing a good many does so it wasn't a total bust
