Depends how you want to mount it. I like the Burris speed bead.

The mount that's made for it, the Marlin 336.

Yep...Burris Part No# 410333

That's assuming you have a flat milled down the top of your receiver

There are two types of gun enthusiasts ... Those who have been F#CKED by PTG and those who will be!

The top of the receiver is very thin. I had a smith attach mine and he also used some sort of adhesive as a hedge against the screws working loose. I’m thinking JB weld but it’s been awhile so I could be wrong. Regardless it’s been maybe 5-6 years ago and have not ever had a problem.

I like the sumtoy mount as well but they are a little hard to deal with at times.

I head the smith at Campbell’s in Robertsdale put a mount on for me. I’m not sure which one he used, but it is one piece of a weaver mount I believe.

Ordered the speed bead hopefully it will suit my needs. I’ve seen mixed reviews on them not wanting to hold zero. If it don’t work out I still have time to get the gun to a smith for a drill and tap. Now to decide on the ff3 or the vortex venom.

Venom or the Burris are both good sights. I’d buy whatever I could get the best deal on. Another option is the Nikon Spur. I bought one recently and I like it, but I have not used it in the woods yet as a proven sight. I got in for 1/2 what the others cost so figured I’d try it.

I put a rail on the vent rib on my 870 20ga. holding up fine for 2 year now. im using a venom. where its mounted I don't have to move my whole had to adjust it if needed, just a finger on my left hand.

if i hadnt taken up hunting i might have became a juvenile delinquent or worst taken up GOLF
