Which do you prefer using in .308?

Of those two, Fusion.

Neither. Hornady here always.

I shoot corelokts in all my rifles except 223, it likes fusions. However, I do not own a 308, which reminds me I need a bigger safe.

I just got a 308 this year and went with Hornady at recommendation of a couple friends... it was a good recommendation. I use corelokts in my 270, 30-06, and 243

Of the two I’d take fusion. I started using Nosler ballistic and if I ever have to track one far using those I’d be surprised.

I have used ballistic tip hand loads for 40 years and decided to use factory loads last year. I used the 308 165gr Federal Fusion. I killed 2 bucks and 6 does and did not lose any so they will kill anything you shoot at. When I finish up what I have left I will go back to ballistic tips. My buddy used the Remington Core Lokt and killed 100s of deer over the years until he made the change to ballistic tips and now that's all he shoots. After cleaning deer from both I would say the Core Lokt create a better wound. The Fusion patterns great in my rifle.

The last box of coreloc I shot were pure junk

I shoot Fusions in most of my rifles. They are accurate in all of them and kill good. And cheaper.

But its not so much what you prefer but what your gun prefers. My .308 H&R ultra single shot breach load likes Federal premium sierra game king BTSP 165gr and the fusions are close but and a little cheaper. Not a fan of cor lokts in general just not top shelf IMHO. Good luck and choot a bigun. Merry Christmas.

I’ve killed with both but like fusions. I Shot a 95gr fusion yesterday am thru a neck and exited the opposite shoulder.

Fusion seems to do more damage, but I like both.

Another vote for Fusions. My 308 is a taxi driver with the 165 grain Fusions

Either one. Whichever one groups better. Terminal performance is about the same.

Still a no-go with Hornady American Whitetail?

I’ve found smaller calibers like core-lokts while the higher calibers don’t. Personally on my higher calibers I used Hornady with great success but that wasn’t an option. Anything .270 and below go with core-lokts. I hit sub MOA wit 130gr core-lokts in my Ruger M-77 Mark II .270

Just picked up a box of 165 grain Federal loaded with Nosler Accubond. Been shooting Barnes thought I try something diff cause they are a lot cheaper.

I have killed dozens of deer with Corlokts and never a failure.
