Check in here if you’ve given this season your best and haven’t connected yet. I’ve seen a fair amount of deer but I have not laid eyes on a racked buck on public land yet. The last 2 years were too perfect so adversity was bound to come my way. The good news is we have 56 days left. Bucks better watch out 😀

Technically I connected once and didn't recover but I'm right there with you. No fresh meat in my freezer yet.

haven't hunted as much as I wanted to so far, but have hunted as much as my other responsibilities allow.......seen several small bucks (ranging from 2" tall spikes to small 8-10" wide 4-5pts) and the biggest I saw was an smallish 6pt (still well inside his ears) that I let walk. Only seen 1 doe so far, and that was while I was checking a camera during bow season.

I haven't had a chance to pull the trigger yet....hoping that changes soon, I'm getting antsy

This is me...never recovered a buck I shot with by bow in November. Professional dogs ran him the next day but could not bay him, hope he made it. We have a LOT of bucks on camera, just need the rut to start cranking up.

You might be comparing this seaso to last season. You had an exceptional season last year.

Yup sounds about right. Public land has not been kind to me this year. Saw 6 different bucks, one was a shooter, last Thursday while bowhunting the day before a gun hunt. Went Saturday and Sunday of the gun hunt and saw 2 squirrels 😳

Drivin kills me...i cant afford to throw much gas money at drivin to a decent wma an i live to far in certain directions to reasonably get to one on a regular basis..soo..i hunt less than stellar public land with low..an i mean...LOW.. populations...and its wore me down...i ant quit yet and i have seen a few deer(does and spikes) but its hard to make myself wanna go..makes me feel like im wastin my time and i cant afford to go many places id like to..i do hunt 2-5 days a week tho..so im thankful for that even if there aint but 5 deer to hunt in the whole county.

I’ve seen more deer so far this year than I have in many years. With that being said I’ve only seen a couple of racked bucks, a lot of spikes and button heads, as well as does. I think in about another week we’ll start seeing the rut and big boys cruising or at least I hope that’s the case

I've put in quite a few hunts and haven't had any shot opportunities yet. I'm about to hit it hard the next couple of weeks.

Ours is about another month away. I don't hunt December but Wed. and Thurs. is sure tempting me

Missed a mature one with my bow which sucked pretty bad...i have seen a couple young 2 yr old bucks and does n yearling but not everytime I go. I hunt private land that don't have much deer

Last two years were amazing for sure.

Killed a doe soo far, I have buck's working scrapes at night right now, will be wide open hunting come January 1, taking the last 2 weeks of January off work!! Looking forward to it

I have seen very few rack bucks this year but I did let a fair buck walk on by in ML season. Wasn't a buck that I would have put on the wall so I just decided to watch him and not kill him. Hunted that stand twice since then but have not see him again.

Seen a few 4 points, 6 points and one 7 point.

Killed two does during ML season.

That's about it so far for me.

I'm with you, but it's more on me than anything else. Some changes going on for my family and having a one year old make for some busy weekends! The up-side is that I've hunted 4 times and I've seen deer 4 times.

Not much deer hunting for me this year. What little I've done is for alternative creatures.

I’ve seen 2 deer so far, neither were shooter.

My plan was to not hunt as much as possible before christmas and fish more. Ive been four times. Seen deer three out of four. Did see young bucks all three times. Also been catching a bunch of fish. Plans working out pretty good. Trying not to stink the woods up before it gets good around here, hoping for more quality hunts instead of more quantity. Also just planning on killing one this year, maybe two if was to get one quick. I want to go up there every day but ive been holding out pretty good. We were getting pretty bad about running deer out of the field, as far as I know I havent ran one out yet this year. This time last year I had probably already sat 75 hours in a stand and was still a week away from killing a deer. Ive enjoyed this year more. The times I have sat in my shooting house it was more to just see what came out and watch some deer than expecting to kill something.

I have seen a bunch and a bunch of bucks, but all of them 2/3 yr old 7-9s...Had what looked like a mature buck come across the field at 50 yards only to have 5 points on one side and the other broke off...oh well...trying to get the fiancé her first next weekend though!
