Dicks and Cabelas (and maybe others) have one on sale right now for $100 and I'm told the data plan is only like $10/month.....several family members bought some this weekend. I'm too cheap to pay that, but it's tempting.
There are 3 certainties in an uncertain world:

heh....spartan/spypoint................I stick with the $30 tasco cameras from the walmarks, so that's about where my trail camera knowledge ends.

A Spartan? 4G? Where is the link to that? Sorry, my bad, just checked and it was SpyPoint not Spartan... I actually have 5 spartan gocam's and 2 spypoint micros. If I was wanting to try out cellular on a budget, I wouldn't hesitate to go with a spypoint for $100. You actually get 100 pics a month for free even if you don't get a data plan. The key to the spypoints is update the firmware and make sure it has a good signal before you leave it anywhere. One of them I had to move around a bit before I started getting pics - I use the nationwide/ATT version. Worst case scenario, you have a standard trail cam for $100, not required to have a data plan for them to work as a regular cam. My spypoints actually have a better detection range than the spartans. That all being said, when I want another rock solid cell cam, I will buy a Spartan.
