... I also have a foot switch and I highly recommend getting one. You will be busy with your hands and they will be greasy and hitting the mounted switch on and off would be a pain. You will want to stop and go frequently... +1 on this rec; get the foot switch; it's mighty handy

I have a 1 HP from Gander Mountain a few years ago and do about 20-30#'s a year. Works fine. Like other say, works best if meat is near frozen. Cut your meat into small 1-2" chunks and don't over-feed it.

i got the .75HP LEM #12 Big Bite & its plenty strong & fast x2 ,ive had mine 3 seasons ,it paid for itself first season . and if you want a cuber the academy brand is a weston just re badged . they have it on sale for $49
