Spin off alert..... it's Scrapes' fault.
What kind of discount from the listed price on the lot to the actual agreed sell price are you guys getting? AKA.... How much are you talking them down?

My daughter just bought a 2019 sonata with 500 miles on it...The list price was right at $30,000.. She got an extended warranty for 10 years and got it out the door for right at $24,000..
This is the Limited Model with every option you can get on that car...
It really shocked me she got it for that price....
Goes to show just how rough the "drive it off the lot" depreciation is on all vehicles but especially the Koreans. She should be really happy with her new car.

Depends on make and model. I've seen people negotiate as high as 13k off sticker at the end of the month but I've also seen dealerships refuse to discount more than 2k on in demand vehicles like the Tacoma. After being in the car business a few years ago , I can say for sure that waiting til the last day of the month, and even the quarter, can pay off big. Gotta be patient and shop around.

F150 XLT 4x4 are selling 15-20% off sticker MSRP, including rebates.

Just for clarity, when you guys say “out the door” you mean taxes, title, fees and everything? I bout a new truck this year. , sticker was 57,600. I paid 39,200 out the door . I did walk out of 3 dealerships before one called me back and said they would take it though For example, your $39,200 price on a $57,600 MSRP vehicle included everything but your tag at the tag office?

yeah, you can't compare trucks unless your comparing dollars too. I didn't plan on them taking my offer when I bought mine so I guess I shouldv'e went lower.

Listed price for a new truck will be something like $56k. No one, I repeat no one pays that price. It’s fake. They’ll run a $10k off sale, like GM is now, but you won’t get them much below that, I assure you. I agree^^^^ I bout a z71 RST back in June. Sticker was 51-52K and out the door I was at 38k

Is there a time of month or year to get the best deal?

I have heard that the last three months of the year are good times to buy as everyone is waiting for tax return money in Jan-March to buy a vehicle and Christmas is soaking up their money from Oct-Dec.
The dealerships I have visited in the last week are ghost towns and they do seem a little desperate.

This is what I was always told. I’ve only bought one truck in the last 24 years but it was in October as they were trying to clear old inventory for new models. Found what I wanted and shopped that model by phone. Saved a lot of money by driving a couple hours into MS. Found a small town dealership that took an extra $3k from these folks in Mobile.

Kind of like 17k off a 60kntruck here in town. I've never paid 17,000 for a vehicle. Thinking about retiring in a couple years and hope never too.
