A week before hunting season my local deer went to lower elevations for an acorn bonanza. All the bigger bucks disappeared, so my wife and I both tagged out on forkies (that's a 4 point to you Alabamians) early in the season. Today, over a month later, is the last day of the season. So what do I see this morning? A 4x4 that was new to me, and a big 3x3 that I had seen before. For my part of Oregon, those are very nice blacktails. Well, at least my freezer is full of tender meat, but nothing goes on the wall this year. the 4x4... the 3x3...

Awesome deer and pictures. Wish you could have gotten them. Sometimes to kill the big one you have to be willing to eat a tag. I'm not, would have done same as you in that circumstance.
I believe that this is a practical world and that I can count only on what I earn. Therefore I believe in work, hard work. -George Petrie (1945)

Never pass up a deer you would kill on the last day of hunting.
