If you do it will ruin your deer hunting in Alabama. Stalking beats sitting in a stand.

Sig Sauer, to hell and back reliable.

Whatever suits you just tickles me plum to death.

Can I refill your eggnog for you? Get you something to eat? Drive you out to the middle of nowhere and leave you for dead?

Too much wind and swirling. Club pres said no hunting. We are having fun at the camp and just enjoying the camp life. Good food and better drinks

I’m sitting it out this year. First time in 15 years. I hunt my own land but am surrounded by clubs. When it became a corn buying contest, I just quit. Guess I’ll upgrade my brush guard and hope for a road kill.

I’m older, a little bit wiser, and a little smarter. Back in the day I would have hunted today, but not these days. Instead I spent the day with my wife, and I KNOW that I made the right choice today. Gonna be more smarter, wiser decisions on when I’ll hunt.

Might try to kill a doe with a handgun. That might light my fire again.

Unless something drastic changes, I doubt I’ll ever bother planting a field again. I can target shoot for cheap and buy meat at the store cheaper than prepping, hunting, and processing. MUCH cheaper. Y’all enjoy the season. Knowing pretty much everyone is hunting over corn this year makes me sad and less impressed with anyones harvest. Guess I’ll go hunt milk at the grocery store. Same odds, much cheaper, shitty weather ends at the door.

Time does change our values. I usually have my woods time during the week and spend weekends with my wife. Grandkids also have a huge effect, love spending time with them. However, there ain’t nothing that can compete with venison blackstrap and hot biscuits! No longer a trophy hunter but a meat hunter and there to enjoy and appreciate nature. Now.....turkey season....I’m still a fanatic!

I went to the HC last weekend, and stayed in the camper Sat. night. Had coffee in the morning and climbed a tree in the dark. Hunted that morning, came back to the camper for lunch. Ate, said I had time for a quick nap in a cool early afternoon, and woke up two hours later. Said screw it for the evening and came home. I'm getting lazy, but happy.

Depends on how old you are.....I've got a cousin that used to be a puddy hound back in the day. He's closing in on 50 years old now. I said something like that to him one day and he says..."Chit I don't even care that much anymore....if I wake up tomorrow and my old lady says I can either have some puddy or a good hot breakfast....choose.....Hell, I'm going with the good hot breakfast!" laugh

Extracurriculars with the missus and good hot breakfast are not mutually exclusive. Just sayin’...why, just this very morning....and I’m nearly 51.

I agree. There was a time when I was at farm just about every afternoon and hunted most days. This weekend me and my 2yr old checked cameras on Friday afternoon which he loves to do then Saturday we watched football and played around the house. Sunday after church we napped then went to the church fall festival. I turned down a good dove hunt and a deer hunt where you normally see 20+ deer yesterday afternoon because going to the fall festival with little man sounded more fun.
