Like the bolsters and the lanyard that piece of antler on the leather while decorative would annoy. What sorta steels you using? Don't mean to "sound" critical it's pretty work just asking.
Only hits count.

Theses are both made from O-1 tool steel. both came in at 63 Rockwell after initial heat treat, and ended up at 59 Rockwell after tempering, which is about what I was hoping for, and consistent with what I've been getting out of the O-1 so far. I've got all the stuff to start the cryo side of hardening with some of the cutlery stainlessness, I've just got to upgrade the controls on my heat treat kiln to handle the ramp up in tempts better. I agree with the lanyard, it looks cool for the pictures, but will be coming off the knife once it goes into service

They start life as 1/8" x 1 1/2" mill finished flat bar. run them on the surface grinder first. They are hollow ground all free hand on a 16" contact wheel.

I used to build knives using blanks that I purchased, but lacked the skills, knowledge, and tools to do metal working to “create” a knife.
I really like the blade design - FANTASTIC WORK!!
