Anyone ever had some sawn up? It would be 1x8s and 1x10s. Did it warp and split bad?

I thought all it was good for was railroad ties.

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

I've sawed a lot of it. It will warp and twist like crazy if sawed into 1 inch lumber.

When we tore down my grannys old house, there was alot of sweetgum in it. I dont think they were really particular about what kind of wood they used back then. It was thicker boards. Dont think it would make good 1xs.

I’ve read they use it a lot for crates and furniture as well.

MBP made it into plywood back in the 70s, but it must not of sold very well. I made some cabinets out of it that are still in use.
